Parking Strip Trees

Parking Strip Trees

UPDATE:

16 feet clearance is what is required for all City of Mount Vernon vehicles. This would allow solid waste trucks along with street department street sweepers to access.

Street department & Solid Waste department will discuss how to move forward with identifying the problem trees. For right now through weekly street sweeping & garbage collection it is about 90% of the trees in Skagit Highlands.

A good place to start is with property owners that trees are lower than 16 feet, cut it back.

Did you know that you are responsible for the tree and grass in the parking strip area in front (and corners if you have a corner house)?

The city has contacted the HOA a couple of times regarding tree branches that are hanging over the street due to issues with garbage collection. Please make sure you prune your trees to accommodate their work. They have mentioned that they will come in and shear trees that cause issues (if you don’t know what this looks like, look at the shearing they did on College Way in the greenbelt areas). You don’t want this to happen as it looks horrible and will violate community standards.

Also, remember to prune branches that hang over the sidewalk.

Any questions, please contact the community manager at cam@skagithighlandshoa.org
